For my AA2 assignment I decided to choose a narration based on a short story from "The World's Shortest Stories" which was edited by Steve Moss. I chose this for my narration because it was short and leaves the reader thinking about the outcome of the end of the story. After picking my narration selection, I searched on freeplaymusic.com for a suspenseful sound that would blend well with my voice. The sound I was looking for also had to set the mood and tone for the story. After searching for different sounds I found a song sample called "Reckless Punk." To download this track and save it to my computer, I had to confirm that the track would be used for class and school project purposes in which it did let me download immediately after confirmation.
The next step was opening Audacity and recording myself narrating the story. The title of the story was called "Final Witness" by Candice C. Mutschler. It took me about three times until I was satisfied with the audio sound. I then imported the audio track "Reckless Punk" that I downloaded and added it as a second track. The music track was much longer than the narration so I first cut the music track so it would end around the same time the narration ended. The volume had to be adjusted as well to where the music was evident but that it didn't drown out my voice. To edit the music I had to make sure I clicked the "Solo" tab by the sound track so it wouldn't effect the narration track. I then normalized and aligned the tracks so the overall sound could blend together. I finally edited the track but adding a fade in and a fade out for a smooth intro and outro to the story. Once completed, I was ready to export my audio as a mp3.
